OPENING TO THE WISDOM OF THE VOICE

Discover and deepen the expressive power of your voice while exploring a full range of vocal sounds and sonic characters.  You will be guided through a process that will unlock the wisdom inherent withiin your voice while experiencing the restorative benefits of sound vibration.  Devleoping a more intimate conenction with your voice can feed the creative process in any discipline.  The workshop is open to all range of voices and experience.

HEALING SOUND

Come and explore the freedom and power of sound.  You will be guided through a process of deepening your connection to your voice through breath, simple body movement, and sounding.  We will explore sound as a form of prayer - as a path that can help us deepen our intentions during the season of Lent.  Sound will be used to  release old
patterns and create an openness to new life-giving ways of being.  Discover the jmany ways that sound can deepen our connection with the sacred and give us an embodied experience of the power and creativity of the life-force within.

SOUNDING OUT YOUR SOUL

In this workshop, you will be guided in a discovery of the expressive power of your voice and experience a deeper connection with your own true self - the heart of who you are.  Your voice will become enlivened through breath and body work, group sounding, and creative vocal exercises.  We will also explore our connection to the goddess through sound, diving into the heart of her sacred mysteries and the creative power of sound vibration.  Bring a blanket and plenty of water.

CALL OF THE SIRENS

The shoreline sirens of Lake Ontario call you into their world of creativity, beckoning you to expand your own creative expression through vocal sounding, artmaking and group ritual performance.  Held within the nurturing and dynamic environment on Toronto Island at Artscape Gibraltar Point, you will be guided in a day long process drawing upon the inspiration and guidance of the world of water, sand, forest, and fire as weel as all the creatures who live along in this oasis that is just minutes away from downtown Toronto. The workshop will be co-facilitated by composer/sound artist Wende Bartley and visual artist/educator Barbara Bickel.
